Target audience

This course is aimed at practitioners who work within a predominantly Adults work force, but would be suitable for all practitioners who may come across financial abuse in their role. As well as those who work within specialist services which sit under statutory intervention who wish to gain a better understanding of what is ‘financial abuse’. Anyone who works across Blackpool, Blackburn and Lancashire can access this training. This course is being delivered by a local authority Adult social worker.

Aims

The aim of this course is to give an overview of the new multi-agency safeguarding procedures. The procedures have been updated to reflect the statutory responsibilities brought in by the Care Act.

Objectives

By the end of the session the course participants will have been informed how:

  • To understand when a safeguarding alert needs to be raised
  • To understand their role in the safeguarding adults process
  • To understand the roles of other partners of the Safeguarding Adults Board
  • To understand their responsibility and their organisations responsibility to safeguard adults
