This event features a film entitled “my mind is free” a powerful interpretation of the degradations of human trafficking. It tells the interlinked stories of four people trafficked to and within the UK and their horrifying tales of abuse, exploitation and enslavement. This film link will be added to the Chat box function within Microsoft teams, the film is shown within YouTube so you must be able to access the YouTube platform to be able to view this.

Target audience

This session is aimed at practitioners who work as part of universal service or provide an early help service across the whole of Lancashire who are working with both Children and families. Who wish to gain a greater understanding of the complexities of Modern day slavery, human trafficking and the barriers when dealing with slavery victims.

Aims

The aim of this interactive session is to provide participants with an overview of the complexities of human trafficking, modern slavery and exploitation.

Objectives

By the end of the session the course participants will have been informed how:
• To identify the signs of trafficking.
• To gain a better understanding of the victims experience and they
• To gain a better understanding of the difficulties and barriers of dealing with the slavery victims.
