Aims

The aim of this course is to offer practitioners the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the impact of Domestic Abuse on Children and families, also offering details of support services and the opportunity to understand the multi-agency responses.

Objectives

By the end of the session the course participants will have been informed how:

  • To define domestic violence and abuse.
  • To understand prevalence of domestic violence and abuse.
  • To recognise domestic violence and abuse.
  • To understand the effect of domestic violence and abuse on children as well as their families.
  • To develop methods of working which promote fair and inclusive practice.
  • To work alongside multi-agency colleagues.
  • To know what do when DA is identified or disclosed.
