Target Audience

This course is aimed at practitioners who work within the Children’s and Adult's workforce. This includes universal services, education, charities and those who provide an early help service. As well as for those practitioners who work within specialist services at statutory intervention level who wish to gain a better understanding of what neglect is and how to use a licensed tool in order to categorise the level of neglect present in the family.





Course Code


The aim of this course is to credit practitioners with a licence to use a flexible suite of assessment tools that are suitable for use by the whole safeguarding partnership to assess neglect of differing types and levels of severity.


By the end of the session the course participants will have been informed how:

  • To become a licensed practitioner to use the GCP2 tool
  • To consolidate knowledge in relation to neglect
  • To know where to go locally for support
