Aims:

This course seeks to identify the core qualities of effective supervisors helping front line staff in making critical judgement when safeguarding adults .This course aims to give those with responsibility for staff supervision the opportunity to develop their supervision skills through a focus on the role of the supervisor in analysing information, managing the impact of the work and the link between supervision styles and outcomes for vulnerable adults.

Objectives:

  • Describe the elements of effective safeguarding supervision and how it can contribute to good outcomes for vulnerable adults
  • Use supervision to enable supervisors to critically appraise their own safeguarding practice 
  • Positively manage the impact of safeguarding, enabling emotions to be used to enrich thinking and support safe practice
  • Promote the effective analysis of information throughout the assessment and planning process
