Aims

The aim of this course is to increase participants’ knowledge and understanding of substance misuse and its effects on young people and their families, with the aim of keeping children and young people safe.

Objectives

By the end of the session the course participants will have been informed how:

  • To identify drugs and their effects
  • To measure and calculate alcohol units
  • To recognise the physical and behavioural signs of a young person, who may have issues with either drugs or alcohol
  • To identify children who maybe victim of criminal child exploitation and county lines
  • To recognise the connection to safeguarding young people and the services which are available
