Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP)
CDOP is a Pan Lancashire (Blackpool, Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen) subgroup. The purpose of the group is to support the 3 LSCBs to meet the functions set out in National and Local guidance in relation to the deaths of any children, up to 18 years, normally resident in the pan Lancashire area. The group aims to better understand how and why children die. The findings from CDOP are used to prevent other deaths and improve the health and safety of our children by making recommendations to the LSCBs and other bodies, as appropriate.
