Exam stress

The NSPCC has released figures which show that Childline delivered 3,135 counselling sessions on exam stress in 2016/17, a rise of 11% over the past two years. Figures also reveal that: 1 in 5 of these sessions took place in May as pupils faced upcoming exams; 12-15 year olds were most likely to be counselled about exam stress; the biggest rise, up 21% on 2015/16 was amongst 16-18 year olds.

Children and young people can call Childline’s free confidential helpline on 0800 1111 or get support from a counsellor online through 1-2-1 chat.
